How to Play Superior Fantasy Hockey
Getting Started
Superior Fantasy Hockey is a fantasy sports game where you build and manage your own hockey team composed of real NHL players. Your team earns points based on the actual performance of your selected players in real-world games. Here's how to get started:
- Download the app and create your account
- Join an existing league or create your own
- Draft your team of NHL players
- Set your lineup for upcoming games
- Watch your players earn points based on their real-world performance
Creating Your Team
When you first sign up, you'll need to create your fantasy team. You'll be given a salary cap and need to select players that fit within your budget. Your team must include:
- 2 Goalies (G)
- 6 Defensemen (D)
- 9 Forwards (LW/C/RW)
- 3 Utility players (any position)
Remember to balance your team with both star players and solid role players who provide consistent points. Don't spend your entire budget on a few superstars!
League Types
Superior Fantasy offers several league formats to match your preferences:
- Season-Long Leagues: Compete throughout the entire NHL season
- Weekly Head-to-Head: Face a different opponent each week
- Daily Fantasy Tournaments: One-day competitions with cash prizes
- Private Leagues: Create custom leagues with friends and customize rules
Managing Your Roster
Throughout the season, you'll need to actively manage your team:
- Set Daily Lineups: Choose which players will be active each day
- Add/Drop Players: Replace underperforming players with free agents
- Make Trades: Exchange players with other managers in your league
- Injured Reserve: Move injured players to IR to free up roster spots
Pay attention to the NHL schedule to maximize games played by your roster. Players can only earn points when they're in your active lineup and playing in real NHL games that day.
Scoring Points
Your fantasy team earns points based on the statistical performance of your players in real NHL games. Different leagues may use different scoring systems, but our standard scoring includes:
- For Skaters: Goals, assists, plus/minus, penalty minutes, powerplay points, shots on goal, hits, blocks
- For Goalies: Wins, goals against average, save percentage, shutouts
